I read Karrine's book and found it totally not helpful to anyone. Her story was sad and pathetic. I wasn't even sure whether she learned any lessons from her own story. I hope she is in counseling, I know a really terrific woman who works with African American women such as she.
Anybody that read this story should have deffinatley learned something from it.If they didn't they rad it for all the wrong reasons. Her story alone should make them aware of the dagers of that business. The things people take advantage of because they know you're trying to make it.Yes her story is sad,not pathetic, and I'm happy that she Pulled herself together CONGRATS
GIRL!!!!!
HONESTLY I THINK THIS WAS A GREAT BOOK. I READ THE BOOK IN ONE DAY BECAUSE IT KEPT ME CURIOUS ABOUT WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT IN HER LIFE. AT FIRST I WAS LISTENING TO A LOT OF COLLEGE STUDENTS PERSPECTIVES AND I WAS SAYING BEFORE I JUDGE HER OFF OF SOMEONE ELSES OPINION AND CALL HER A WHORE I WANT TO READ THE BOOK FOR MYSELF, BEING THAT IM A YOUNG FEMALE THAT WANTS TO BE AN ACTRESS/VIDEO GIRL/MODEL IT REALLY TOUCHED MY HEART BUT NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF THAT BUT MOSTLY BECAUSE OF HER PAST, YOU WOULD THINK THAT A PERSON WHO DIDNT HAVE A STRONG FAMILY SUPPORT ESPECIALLY FROM THE PERSON WHO BROUGHT HER INTO THE WORLD WILL NEVER SUCCEED IN LIFE. I KNOW THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY BUT FOR SOME REASON IN MY HEART I FELT THAT SHE WAS THE ONE TELLING THE TRUTH. TRUE ENOUGH HER FAULTS DIDNT HAVE A GOOD JUDISFICATION FOR WHY SHE DID THOSE THINGS BUT SHE WAS DETERMINED TO CHANGE, NOTHING DONT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT BUT SHE DID IT. I LIKE IT BECAUSE KARREN IS NOT LOOKING FOR NOBODYS SYMPATHY SHE JUST WANT PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND WHERES SHE COMING FROM OR MAYBE IT WAS A STEP TO IMPROVE HER LIFE BY LETTING OUT THE TRUTH.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO YOUNG PEOPLE. AND FOR PEOLPLE WHO ARE DOWNTALKING HER, JUST KNOW YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND BECAUSE YOU WASN'T IN HER SHOES AND KNOW THAT EVERYBODY HANDLE SITUATINS DIFFERNTLY SO SHE MIGHT NOT BE AS STRONG AS YOU ARE.
I'm glad I'm with the majority on this book. It was poorly written. If you look at her timeline, some of the dates just don't add up (which makes me believe some of it was just made up). She takes us forward. She takes us back, I really don't think her book was used to deter young girls from that life style because in the end she was still claiming to miss it. I think she just ran out of men to sleep with and needed a different income. I only read the book because a friend recommended it. She felt the same way I did once I informed her that I really didn't enjoy it. To me, it was just a thicker tabloid. Gossip! Gossip! Gossip! And in the end, who looks dumb; those men or her. No offense Karrine, but baby you're still selling your body. Why don't you use that mind that you claim you had in the beginning of the book and get a real job.
i read the book and i thought it was poorly written, she kept jumping from past to present i had a hard time following the time lines and i got confused a lot while reading it. i did think her story was sad i wouldn't call her pathetic because there are a lot of women out there that really feel they have no other choice. i'm almost 30 now but in my early 20's and late teens i was lost my self esteem was very low and men were my only source of comfort so to speak. i craved attention from men so i can identify with her but i think she could have told her story a little better i wanted to hear about the good things she's doing at the end of the book but that never happened so i wonder if she really has learned a lesson or is she just trying to make money? i hope this sister does get some help.
I agree with Tiff, people should have learned something by reading this book. Just because you want to meet someone and you've made them up in your mind about how you think they will be is not necessarily true. Knowing the real person might be the worst thing to happen or the best thing to happen to you. You may have wished that they were still a fantasy.
I heard about the book on a tv show recently and ran out to buy it because I wanted to hear the dirt on the celebs. I read this book for entertainemnt purposes only, not to learn anything. My only disappointment was that she named some of the celebs and not all of them. Why put Ice-T and JaRule out there and then hold back on the other names? Furthermore, if you are going to write a book about all of this stuff, then write the book! Don't write some and then sit there and say there is more to the story. If you are going to take the time then tell the entire story or don't even try to justify yourself by saying there is more to the story! I don't condone her actions with these people because there is always another way of coming up in life. It just all depends on what kind of hard work you want to do. As far as her comments on why she wrote the book, I think it is a load of crap. She wrote the book because she felt these celebs did her wrong and she wanted to get back at them. Just admit it girl! You don't have to come up with a politicaly correct explanation as to writing your book. You did the dirt and then you told it. If they are embarrassed or upset about it, so what! Hopefully this is a lesson to the stars that they can't just do whatever they want with whoever and get away with it.
I think that Karrine Steffans was truly just a hoe she didnt get any sorrow from me becuase its like she got what she deserve for one she talked about how all the man did her wrong but she slept with all there freinds and then when a man wanted to wife her up she would always mess it up. I think she is just like any typically hood rat thats out here . She jumped from man to man depending on what they got and who was the hottest celbrity at the time . she dont have any respect for her self and her realtionship with her son is terrible thats what really stood out to me the whole book . I dont care how bad things were what kind of mother treats there child that way. It's like she cared more about the men in her life than her son. I believe she is still the same way . Just because she wrote abook confessing to her sins dont mean nothing she still seems the same to me she didn't make a big change to me in the end of her book.
This was a very poorly written book. Karrine wants everyone to believe that she did this to help young girls. If I had a daughter she would not read this. Their are no lessons to be learned from it. I actually feel sorry for Karrine because she didn't learn anything herself. To place the blame on everyone but herself is irresponsible. No one made her do anything or forced anything on her. Also why beg for a baby to be born in the circumstances that she was in with her marriage? She had the nerve to say it would give her the strenght to leave. I actually remember her having the poor child and never really speaking of him again. He must have been with a sitter while his mother was whoring around. Sure hope it was a responsible sitter so he could have some sort of stability in his life. I feel terrible for her son and the embarrassment that he will face for the rest of his life. He will never say "I'm proud of my mother" why should he? I also do not empathize with the stars either. It was a great hustle, sure to catch the attention of millions, at the very least.
i haven't actually read the book myself, but i did see miss thang on the Tyra show a while back. it seems to me that she may have written this book just to name names, make some quick money, and put her face out in the public eye. maybe one of the gentlemen she named in the book hurt her in some way and she wanted revenge so she wrote this book. there is no way that these men were 100% comfortable with their names being mentioned. i don't believe it. if the book as as weak as i have heard i will never read it.
I heard about this chick and I ran out to buy the book. This book was horrible!!!! Karrine truly pissed me off. It seems to me that she was down on her luck and needed money so she told. Now in no means to a think that the men she spoke of are innocent. Karrine she have stopped and thought about all the wives and poor children of these men. Karrine should of thought about her own son. She has pictures of her baby in this book. Now her son will know that his mom was a drug addicted whore. How sad!!!
My advice to SUPERHEAD-KEEP YOUR MOUTH AND YOUR LEGS CLOSED IN THE FUTURE!!
THINK ABOUT YOUR SON AND THE CHILDREN OF ALL THESE MEN!!!
I read the book in 1 day. Now dont get me wrong the book was poorly written, however, I'm not going to knock her hustle. She saw a way out of a bad situation and she got out. I understand. I went through some of the same things she went through with the abuse in her marriage. I dont condone what she did to get to the top. Karrina used these men like men have been using women for years and now everyone has a problem. Now she making money off her life. That her life. I wish that she would have told on everyone in the book if you going to name names name them all. Which kind of makes me question are those that she didn't name she funding her bank accout. But anyway, I believe her. I think that she saw a big door of opportunity open and she walked through it. These men knew they had wives and children at home and all the blame cannot be placed on Karrine. I'm sure she didn't put a gun to none of their heads to make them do the things that these men did for her. That's what wrong with a lot of women these days blaming the women when you should be checking your man. TO Karrina: Get Yo' Hustle On!!!! Men have been doing it for years. Ride til wheels fall off!!!!
I havent raed your book but im looking forward to reading it I also saw you on mtv2 I think when you was talking about what you and other girls been therough and thats all I hve to say and by the way im 14yearsold
I read Karrine's book and I'm proud of her boldness. Not every women could admit to all the men she slept with and used. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone her behavior, but I think it's a good thing that she did tell her story. Karrine helped someone by coming forward with her story. I know she isn't the only person in the video industry with a story of shame. I honestly don't believe she did this for money, but I think this was for something much deeper. Maybe she's reaching out for help. I'm not not going to past judgement like so many of you already have, but I will say that her story was interesting.
THE BOOK WAS INTERESTING, IT JUST SHOWS HOW MEN ARE ALL THE SAME EVEN IF THEY ARE CELEBRITIES, TAKE AS MUCH AS YOUR GIVING.
