Great Beach Reads
The long Fourth of July weekend definitely kick-started my summer reading! A sunny beach down the shore seemed the most appropriate place to dive into the latest installment of my favorite Jersey-set series – Janet Evanovich’s TWELVE SHARP. Stephanie Plum is at it again! This time, the hapless bounty hunter finds herself searching for a murderer and a missing child. All while trying to avoid a mysterious woman from Ranger’s past and keeping Grandma Mazur out of trouble.
Evanovich never lets me down. TWELVE SHARP is laugh out loud funny as and the chemistry between Stephanie and the two men in her life really sizzles. How will she ever decide between Joe Morelli and Ranger? I know I can’t!
Also in my beach bag, THE GLASS CASTLE. While not a new book, Jeannette Walls’ compelling memoir is this month’s pick for my local neighborhood book club. Boy, am I glad I finally got around to reading it. Talk about a page-turner! It’s never too late to pick up a great book just because you missed it the first time around. The Literary Guild website has some terrific extra features like an online excerpt, exclusive editor video, and a reading group guide (which I know will come in handy at my book club’s next meeting!). Definitely check it out!
