I'm usually a fiction gal, but lately I've been into memoirs. I've read two really great ones from QPB: Jeannette Walls' THE GLASS CASTLE and Julia Scheeres' JESUS LAND. These books share a lot of similarities. Both tell the coming of age story of a young girl with a difficult childhood who struggles with irresponsible parents. And strangely enough, both authors became journalists later in life. It was a coincidence that I read these books back to back, but they make for an interesting study together. I highly recommend them.
