What Are You Looking For?
This blog is still fairly new, and I'm trying to figure out what works here and what doesn't. There are some things I can do that I haven't done yet, so I wanted to ask you readers what you're looking for.
Some of the things I could post here:
- excerpts from our exclusive interviews
- "Author's Notes" from writers about their new books in the SFBC
- lists of books (perhaps weekly) that the SFBC just acquired
Do any of those things sound interesting? Is there anything else you'd like to see in this blog? Post any thoughts in the comments, no matter how unlikely they might seem
You can also use the comments to ask any other questions you might have about this blog -- I'm hoping to fine-tune things, and I'd like your input on what you like and don't like, want and don't want.

Comments
Those are all good items to add, imo.

Definitely 'yes' on the new books list. One of the primary reasons I'm still a member of SFBC is that it alerts me to new books that I want to check out. (The prices are also good, but not _that_ much lower than Amazon, especially since I have a Prime account there.)
Authors notes are also good in the whole 'discover new books' goal. Often, you get a better sense of what a book is like from those than any description.
Excerpts of interviews, I've got no reason to complain about. Those seem like pure fun.
I'd also not mind personal recommendations or reviews - understanding that you're disinclined to turn us off of buying particular books, but reasons why to pick up new ones, particularly new authors, are welcome.
I guess I have two problems I want to solve in my fiction buying. One is not knowing when something I want is released easily enough. The other is not knowing that something out there is something I'd like. (Or, given the realities of reading time, if I should pass on something, which just means I'm reading something _else_.)
More data is always good! I'm such a data junkie!

Yes to all of them. Blogs are most useful when you share info people cannot get elsewhere, and I also enjoy your tidbit posts and links.
In fact, one of your recent links may have been more useful than you can imagine. I'll let you know if anything comes of it.

I also am a data junkie. Listing books the SFBC just acquired both seems useful for members like myself and as a marketing tool to non-members.
The other stuff sounds groovy too. I read the Author's Notes in the SFBC mailing when I am interested, so I don't care about that here, either way.

They all sound like good ideas. You're off to a good start with this blog, btw.
