Tim Powers on Three Days To Never

We asked Tim Powers to say a few words to our members about his new novel Three Days to Never, and this is what he said:

I’ve always wondered why Einstein’s hair is white in all photos of him from 1928 on. In biographies it just says he had some kind of heart attack then, while hiking in the Swiss Alps, but I was left wondering, “Sure, but what really happened to him up there?” And then I read that when Einstein visited Hollywood he went to a séance with Charlie Chaplin. That settled it — there was obviously more going on with Einstein than history has recorded!

Well, not actually, I suppose. But it’s that sort of odd little fact that gets my imagination working. And of course I start wondering what supernatural business might have been going on.

I could never write plain mainstream fiction!
