The Last Gasp of the Year's Best Season?
The Seattle Times, in true slacker style, has just now gotten around to posting their "Best Books 2006" list, which includes Kelly Link's Magic for Beginners (which was actually published in 2005), The Road by Cormac McCarthy, and Firebird by R. Garcia y Roberson on the "Fiction" list and Julie Phillips's James Tiptree, Jr. on the "Biography/history" list.

Update, later that day: Another "Best of the Year" list has emerged from Neth Space.

Call me old-fashioned, but I'm waiting until the year is, you know, actually over. There's two whole weeks of precious reading time left yet!
