Forbidden Planet International has posted the preliminary list of nominees for the 2007 Prometheus Award (which they got from Prometheus, the magazine of the Libertarian Futurist Society).

The nominees are:

• Harald, David D. Friedman
• Variable Star, Robert A. Heinlein & Spider Robinson
• Engaging the Enemy, Elizabeth Moon
• The Ghost Brigades, John Scalzi
• The Clan Corporate, Charles Stross
• Red Lightning, John Varley
• Rainbows End, Vernor Vinge

That's an interesting list, and certainly shows that they're looking at books rather than authors.
